As promised, here is the first of a handful of folks from my travels the past few weeks. They're simple and likely only mean something to me. But that's the beauty of it, right? Please write in and share some of your own...

1)  My US Airways pilot and his simple reassurance

Don’t know his name, but he did something so simple that made folks feel better. We ran into some turbulence on the way out of Florida. No big deal for most of us, but the kind you do feel when it’s a little bouncier than normal.

The pilot came on the overly-startling speaker (when are they going to turn them down?) and said, “Ladies and Gentlemen, for those of you that might be feeling nervous, just picture a big ‘ol bus going down a bumpy road. It’s completely normal and safe, but we’ll do our best to avoid the bumps.”

With the economy in the tank and no need for extra anxiety, it was just a simple, calming thought instantly relatable to the people on board unsettled by the turbulence. A little thing that counted...
