Day 1  Arrive Beijing


Overnight at Hotel Cote Cour



Day 2  Fly to Guiyang

Visit Jichang Old Han people in their village to see the distinctive “Ground Opera.” Have lunch here and enjoy an opportunity to talk with villagers about their daily lives and traditions.

Day 3  Xiaba and Damodong / Return to Guiyang



Day 4  Drive to Kaili

Visit Datang Short Skirt Miao village and Paika Long Skirt Miao en route. Paika and Datang are two well-preserved Miao villages where local people still practice ancient traditions. They are also known for their warm hospitality. We will watch a demonstration of intricate Miao braid embroidery by local village experts. We will also get a chance to try playing the lusheng in a farmer’s home. Also visit Shuidian Village.

Day 5  Mandong, Shiqiao, Shiqing

Visit Mandong Middle-skirt Miao village/ Shiqiao Papermaking Village / Shiqing Farmer's Painting Village / Return to Kaili

Day 6  Guiyang, Guilin

Drive back to Guiyang/ Fly to Guilin

Day 7  HOMA, Yangshuo

AM: Visit HOMA

Hotel of Modern Art is located inside Yuzi Paradise Art Park. The park is nestled in a beautiful and quiet country valley, with serene natural beauty (about 45 minutes to Guilin airport and 45 minutes to Yangshuo). It’s a perfect place for a getaway if you want to relax and take in a unique artistic experience.


PM: Drive to Yangshuo/Bamboo Rafting

Afterward, return to the bustling West Street in Yangshuo to relax in a coffee bar along Pantao Road, now nicknamed “Foreigners’ Street.” We can take this change to explore and film the Yangshou twon. Dinner will be on your own. There are many good restaurants in the area. Don’t forget to try the famous local specialty beer fish!

Day 8  Drive to Longsheng

The drive takes approximately 3 hours along a breath taking country road. Longsheng is located at the northwest border of Guangxi and Guizhou Provinces. It is a stunning wilderness region highlighted by the Dragon Backbone Rice Terraces, and is home to a colorful mixture of Dong, Zhuang, Yao and Miao ethnic minorities. En route, stop by a small open-air market, where we will find lots of locally produced products and handmade crafts by local ethnic groups. We also have the option of visiting a tribe of Long Hair Miao, where an in-home visit can be arranged. Afterward, climb up Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces (Longji Titian). A half-hour climb leads to Ping’an Village. The majority of residents in Ping’an Village are Zhuang Minority. After lunch and a short break, we will continue to the top of the mountain for stunning views of the forests.

Day 9  Guilin, Kunming, Lijiang

Free morning/ Drive to Guilin/ Fly to Kunming / Take a connecting flight to Lijiang / Overnight at Banyan Tree Lijiang



Day 10  Visit Old Town of Lijiang, Black Dragon Pool, and Lashihai Lake

Escorted tour to Lijiang Ancient Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site designation in 1997) is also known as Dayan, which is charming with its cobblestone streets, wooden buildings and flowing canals. You will be able to distinguish at least ten different types of Naxi buildings. It is an intact ancient city inhabited mostly by the Naxi National Ethnic Minority.


Visit Black Dragon Pool

Renowned for its flowers and pavilions, and the Dongba Cultural Institute. You can appreciate from afar the breathtaking view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountains. If you are lucky, you may be able to have the chance to visit a Shaman’s home.


Visit Lashihai Lake



Day 11  Yuhu village / Wenhai Valley / Xuehua village

Greeted by local Shaman named Bimo.

Wenhai Village is located in a converted Naxi courtyard house, the Wenhai Ecolodge provides a great base for day hikes around the lake, to the upper slopes of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, or to more remote Yi villages in the area.



Day 12  Drive to Zhongdian

En route, visit the First Bend of the Yangtze River. After a short stop, continue driving to Qiaotou Village for the adventurous trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge, the narrowest part of the Yangtze River (just 30 meters). It is so named because there is a rock in the gorge shaped like a fierce tiger leaping to the other side.


Arrive in Zhongdian / Overnight at Banyan Tree Ringha



Day 13  Visit Ganden Songtsamlin Monastery / Hamagu Village

The temple was built in 1679 during the reign of the fifth Dalai Lama, and is the first Tibetan Buddhism temple in Yunnan province. It is a 5-story Tibetan watchtower-type structure and also absorbed some of the architectural style of the Han people. The murals and wood carvings in the temple are extremely exquisite. That is why Ganden Songzanglin Monastery is nicknamed by locals ‘Small Potala Palace’. Currently, there are 800 monks and 1 living Buddha residing in the temple.



Day 14  Visit Pudacuo National Park / Yunnan Mountain Heritage Foundation



Day 15  Fly to Shanghai
